Inspiration

WE GOTTA VOTE is more than a slogan — it’s a reminder that our voices carry power. Voting is how we show up for our communities, our families, and our future. It’s how we protect progress, demand accountability, and shape the policies that impact our everyday lives — from education and healthcare to housing, jobs, and justice. The right to vote was hard-fought, earned through sacrifice, courage, and collective action, and honoring that legacy means participating with intention and urgency. When we vote, we affirm that we matter and that our communities deserve to be seen, heard, and represented. Change doesn’t happen on its own — it happens when we engage. If we want a future that reflects our values and protects our rights, we can’t sit on the sidelines. We gotta vote.

Design Elements

The design elements for the WE GOTTA VOTE campaign center on bold clarity, urgency, and collective empowerment. The visual language should be strong, direct, and instantly readable — using high-contrast color combinations that command attention from a distance while remaining accessible and inclusive. Typography should be powerful and unapologetic, favoring heavy sans-serif headline fonts that communicate strength and immediacy, balanced by clean supporting type for clarity. Composition should prioritize hierarchy, placing “WE GOTTA VOTE” as the dominant focal point, supported by concise calls-to-action and strategic white space to enhance impact. Graphic elements such as dynamic lines, subtle texture, layered transparency, or motion-inspired diagonals can convey momentum and forward movement. Imagery, when used, should reflect real community voices and diverse representation, reinforcing authenticity and unity. Overall, the design should feel modern, grassroots, and action-driven — visually communicating that participation is power and that this moment matters.

Impact and Engagement

The WE GOTTA VOTE campaign generated strong regional and national visibility, strategically placing billboards in key urban centers including Detroit, Milwaukee, and Atlanta — cities with deep civic histories and influential voter populations. Positioned in high-traffic corridors, the campaign messaging reached thousands of commuters daily, reinforcing urgency and community empowerment at scale. The bold, high-contrast visuals were designed for immediate readability within seconds, maximizing impact in fast-moving environments. In 2024, the campaign’s momentum expanded nationally when it was featured on CNN, amplifying its reach beyond physical placements and sparking broader conversations around civic engagement and voter participation. The combination of targeted city activation and national media exposure strengthened awareness, increased digital engagement, and reinforced the campaign’s call to action across multiple platforms.
